Yixuan Zhao's Perception of life sign series raises awareness of the concept of upcycling objects, properly recognizes the risks of environmental contamination, and gives ideas on what people can do for the environment.

The main color of the Perception of life sign series is green, representing the environment and ecology, and the material is aluminum plate, with the size of 12 x 18''. This series of works will be placed in garbage rooms or recycling areas. The design theme uses simple and clear phrases to remind people of the things they need to pay attention to. Simultaneously, the design elements include garbage, upcycling, and symbols representing green to remind everyone to be aware of a large amount of waste and pollution in their lives.

People are familiar with the fact that plastic can be recycled. However, only a few people notice that most plastics can only be recycled once, after that they go directly to landfill. Therefore, a huge amount of plastic goes to landfill every year, some of the plastic enters the ocean and causes severe environmental pollution. Yixuan feels saddened by this situation and hopes that we can start from the smallest things around us and make a change for the ecological environment starting from today and now. So upcycling is important as it reuses materials instead of throwing them away. Reducing waste in landfills has a positive impact on the environment.

Yixuan also hopes that the concept of "everyone can be an artist" will penetrate into everyone's life. She hopes that people will be inspired by these signs and perceive the beautiful objects in their lives that have been missed.
